Bloodstone \Blood"stone`\, n. (Min.)
(a) A green siliceous stone sprinkled with red jasper, as if
with blood; hence the name; -- called also {heliotrope}.
(b) Hematite, an ore of iron yielding a blood red powder or
"streak."
