stanzas, strophes, etc.; poetical measure, depending on
number, quantity, and accent of syllables; rhythm;
measure; verse; also, any specific rhythmical
arrangements; as, the Horatian meters; a dactylic meter.

standard of linear measure in the metric system of weights
