Tenacious \Te*na"cious\, a. [L. tenax, -acis, from tenere to
hold. See {Tenable}, and cf. {Tenace}.]
1. Holding fast, or inclined to hold fast; inclined to retain
what is in possession; as, men tenacious of their just
rights.
