Baby Shower Invite Etiquette - DCUM Weblog My friends are throwing me a shower here in town, but I have no family here My mom and sis, and maybe an aunt and cousin, will be coming in from out of state, but I'm unsure if I need to invite the rest of my family (aunts, girl cousins around my age, great aunt, grandmothers) if only to be polite, knowing they won't or can't attend this far away?

We used a holiday card style announcement (autumn baby) and sent it to our usual holiday card list I usually send a gift when I get a birth announcement, but I usually only get an announcement from close friends or family And, I often send a gift if I learn via the holiday card that someone had a baby (pre-Facebook, this was more common)
