New to FreeBSD. Startx fails with Cannot run in framebuffer . . . I'm new to FreeBSD I recently installed FreeBSD 12 on my system with a Coffee Lake i5 9600k CPU and integrated Intel UHD 630 graphics The install went smoothly, but when I try running startx I get the strange error message: "Cannot run in framebuffer mode Please specify busIDs"
startx failing cannot run in framebuffer mode [SOLVED] However, this time I am constantly getting a fatal server error: "Cannot run in framebuffer mode Please specify busIDs for all framebuffer devices" I know that is cannot be an error with the groups my user is in, nor can it be the kernel configuration
[Solved] Xorg Error: Cannot run in framebuffer mode. Laptop . . . Solved - Cannot run in framebuffer mode | The FreeBSD Forums I've just updated FreeBSD from 12 2 to 14 1 and updated pkgs, and now I can't start xorg because of the above error I'm told I need to specify busIDs but have never done this before and don't know what this means
Xorg: Cannot run in framebuffer mode infinite loop on boot . . . single-- which gives me this error: Cannot open access to console, the root account is locked See sulogin(8) man page for more details Press Enter to continue No I haven't messed with fstab, nor any system critical files, as far as I know If there's an option to fix the xorg error without accessing a text interface, please let me know
startx cannot run in frame buffer, and xrandr cant open . . . It simply errored out, stating that "Cannot run in framebuffer mode Please specify busIDs for all framebuffer devices" Googling a bit I found plenty of forum and reddit posts stating I needed to install drivers which I thought I had already did with the pkg install nvidia-driver
