RSM or AoPS -- which one? - DCUM Weblog The AoPS classes pretty closely follow the Beast Academy textbooks for 2nd-5th grade, and then the AoPS pre-Algebra and beyond for the other classes The kids do 1 hr 45 minute classes with teacher led instruction, problems, reinforcing activites, and so on, and then they get about an hour of homework each week

We started doing the level 2 Beast Academy books (my daughter is a rising 2nd grader), but I've had to supplement the teaching in the book a good deal The lessons are fast paced and my daughter needs more hands-on examples (like using hundreds, tens, and ones blocks for larger number addition)
