Personal Experience - Demystifying SPS Coral Care | Reef2Reef Side view of Reefer Matt’s SPS tank Some beginner SPS coral to try include: Montipora, Pavona, Leptoseris, Pocillopora, Seriatopora, and Stylophora You can see that I have most of those in my SPS reef tank I suggest waiting until your tank is at least 8-12 months established before introducing SPS coral for best success

Best light for sps only tank | Reef2Reef You can grow sps with a $160 viparspectras or spend a lot more on higher end LEDS I think the T5 LED combo is a great combination of not breaking the bank, but getting good light spread The downside of an all LED setup is you may have to buy lot to get a good light spread over the entire tank
Sps vs. Angelfish | Reef2Reef I just starting removing my angelfish because I decided I would prefer polyp extension over incredibly beautiful fish The problem is that some sps have polyps that add quite a bit of color to the colony Polyps can be quite brightly colored and even if not, the extension gives quite the appearance of movement as the polyps sway with flow

Tell Me Why You Don’t Like SPS Coral | Reef2Reef Some Reefers love sps coral, some hate them, some never tried I personally like sps (small polyp stony) coral, but they aren’t very popular in my area Is it because they aren’t “flowy”, or “puffy”? What are the reasons why you don’t like sps coral?
