Anyone use Novacolor acrylics? - WetCanvas: Online Living for Artists I still use tube acrylics (Blick) for most of my portraits mainly because I have all the portrait colors in tubes already and they’re easier to throw in a bag and paint anywhere with, but I have used Novas on canvas paintings as well and I love the flow, the intensity of color, and the price doesn’t hurt either

You could apply these with brush or pen, but I’m unclear as to what it is you want to do with these linear marks

When I decided to try acrylics I decided to jump right in to using artist grade and chose Liquitex I guess because they seemed to be most available Today I had an acquaintance ask why I was using Liquitex rather than Golden She says that the Liquitex doesn’t have nearly as much pigment load as Golden
W N Slow Drying Medium vs Golden Retarder The Golden Open Acrylics are very nice but Golden had to compromise with the pigment load to balance it with the “open” characteristics If they loaded in as much pigment as they have in their regular lines of paints, it made the paints act just like regular acrylics, drying quickly, and they lost that longer blending time
