'a`galmatos, image, statue -lite: cf. F. agalmatolithe.]

A soft, compact stone, of a grayish, greenish, or yellowish
color, carved into images by the Chinese, and hence called
{figure stone}, and {pagodite}. It is probably a variety of
pinite.
