Where can I buy area rugs at good prices? - Talk of The Villages Peter, We've been looking for area rugs for more than a year We hit all of the obvioius local stops: Southern Lifestyles, Rug World, Best Flooring, Target, Home Depot, and Lowes, and of course, the internet--and had almost given up
Carpet in Lanai - Talk of The Villages Florida We have a sliding glass (floor to ceiling) enclosed lanai and opted for tile with accent rugs We enjoy opening the windows for the breeze occasionally and we will forget to close them before we leave the house Once in a while that unexpected rainstorm pops up and we have had wet tile which is fine Much better than wet carpet
Lanai indoor-outdoor carpeting? - Talk of The Villages Florida I've been using a regular indoor outdoor carpet (8 X 12) under our patio set Yes it gets wet on the edge near the outside but so far no mold I like the feel of the carpet (very thin and made for outdoors - bought at Target) and it makes the area look like more of a normal sitting area IMHO
Replacing carpeting - Talk of The Villages Florida We removed all of our carpet and installed laminate flooring throughout including bedrooms Floor masters did the work good price great selection of flooring Love the change easy upkeep looks great Area rugs enhance the flooring
Porcelain Tile or Luxury Vinyl Plank - Page 2 - Talk of The Villages . . . This time we used porcelain again but the type that looks like a wood floor We picked times that are 12” by 6’ Hardly any grout and again do easy to keep clean These are easier on the feet than the shiny 36x36 tiles but I love them both Area rugs make it cozy getting out of bed and under the couch area as well
Porcelain Tile or Luxury Vinyl Plank - Talk of The Villages I like the porcelain tile that looks like pickled wood planks However, installing a houseful of porcelain tile takes a lot of time Yes, it feels cold to the feet (Or cool on a hot day ) You’ll feel it more if you fall It echos like a train station The solution to that is area rugs, but they are more of a tripping hazard than wall-to-wall
WHY all the ugly ceramic tile? - Talk of The Villages Florida Tile is sweeping, mopping, cleaning grout lines Carpet is just run the vacuum cleaner Hard on the feet and legs standing and walking on tile everywhere Nothing like walking barefoot on a nice rug instead of cold hard tile Then putting down area rugs that move and shift, something to trip over, and now you have added one more cleaning chore
