What is FF. net really like now? : r FanFiction - Reddit I stopped posting my work on FFNet in 2012 during the second MA purge, and joined AO3 Let's be fair, I was around on FFNet since before the first MA purge, and I can safely say the site has been a crumbling relic for a long time The admins give less than a rip about their own site If they did give a crap, the site would have been updated
How to use FF. net properly : r FanFiction - Reddit I dunno I just finished reading an FFnet fic that wound up being a disappointing harem fic and you can bet that had I known, I would never have bothered reading it I should have heeded my instincts when the MC popped into the story all super witty and badass, but the concept was intriguing enough that I kept reading
What happened to FFnet? : r HPfanfiction - Reddit Really unfortunate Ao3 has been rather lovely, feels like I’m being spoiled in comparison I guess I’ll still continue to post on FFnet for now, since it’s just a secondary place, but I might give up soon Just so odd It’s not even like I’m posting anything that weird or out there It’s a popular fanon ship and has been for decades
Fanfiction. net problems megathread : r FanFiction - Reddit It's hard, because I still have to jump through a lot of hoops just to view a chapter usually Like today, I switched to desktop mode first, but then I had to switch back to mobile just to get into the chapter and stop the cloudflare just revolving forever
So is FF. net actually going down or not? : r FanFiction - Reddit AO3's case isn't even comparable to FFNet's, considering the amount of support AO3 has (looking at all of their donation drives) because of the site's vision for a comfortable and safe place for fanwork, and how their staff, volunteers and all, really seem to be passionate about the site
Status of Fanfiction. net : r FanFiction - Reddit The last email I got from support was from a couple weeks ago, when they put in a new movie category for me; I can tell they read it cause I had initially asked for a year number in the subject header to differentiate it from other (unadded) movies with the same name, but since there weren't fics for the other same-title movies it was added without one
Huge difference in reception AO3 vs FF. net : r FanFiction - Reddit For me I feel like for supernatural, ffnet is a good place to cross-post gen and crossover stories and ship stories get more interaction on ao3 Romantic stories just tend to do better, imo for that fandom, on ao3 (unless its an oc main character, then I think it's better on fanfic net)
Which is better? Which do you prefer? FF. net or AO3? Or . . . - Reddit FFnet is popular to hate, but I've found so many great fics there I'd like to believe that Wattpad and Quotev have great stories too but the search engine on those sites is just bad Not 'I need to get over this learning curve' like AO3, just bad
Is fanfiction. net dying? : r FanFiction - Reddit Site mechanics aside, if your fandom isn’t active there, you’re not going to have much luck getting reads or reviews for your fics I had thought about crossposting FFnet editions of my fics specifically edited to fit within the guidelines, but hardly any fics show up for my fandom so it wouldn’t be worth the trouble
