IXL - worth getting or pass? : r homeschool - Reddit IXL is a program commonly used in public schools, and my public-schooled kids hate it The teacher parent sets a points percentage goal for the student to reach The teacher parent sets a points percentage goal for the student to reach
IXL for homeschooling : r homeschool - Reddit IXL is the better curriculum by far My child loves that it is super straightforward and doesn't have the busy work that other curriculums have Almost every lesson comes with a micro video lesson to review or learn the topic These are 3 or 4 minute lessons that are effective at teaching the problems within that lesson We love IXL
Is IXL worth it? My review after 4 years : r matheducation - Reddit Once when I was in 2nd grade it took me 6 fricking hours to finish just 1 ixl skill all because of the stupid dumbass system which takes off points if you get a question wrong, and you have to get to 100 points That was how it took me 6 hours ALL CAUSE OF IXL'S STUPID GRADING SYSTEM
How to complete a lesson on IXL (with images) : r ixl - Reddit Go to IXL Complete an easy lesson then right-click the 'completed' icon It should look like this: 100 Click Inspect element Copy the code for the '100' first We will do the medal later it should look like this: Now Inspect the lesson that you would like to complete ;), like this for example
WTF is up with IXL? : r Teachers - Reddit Whenever I assigned IXL, I set a time limit - task x y OR 10 minutes, whichever is shorter (this was 4th grade; 20 min would be reasonable in middle school) Perhaps you can share your daughter's frustration with the teacher and ask if time working rather than mastery is okay
Miacademy and IXL : r homeschool - Reddit Miacademy is an accredited full curriculum homeschool option We spend about 4-5 hours a day using this curriculum and it has been amazing for my daughter My daughter used iXL in public school prior and she wasn’t a fan There are a lot of resources and extension activities to use within Mia as well!
I FUCKING HATE IXL : r teenagers - Reddit ixl is shit like hell i hate it in gr 10 going to 11th grade and this shitty site sucks glitches and smart score goes 2 points then drains 6 points to 10 points u could be in mid 96s and go down to 80s or 90s due to their shitty smartscore system
Dont use IXL : r Teachers - Reddit IXL is fine as long as you use it right Preview the skill, work through the problems, determine an acceptable SMART Score for your students to go up to The majority of issues with IXL are the result of teachers not researching the skills ahead of time, then asking the students to go up to 100 on the skill
IXL or Khan Academy? Which you guys prefer? : r matheducation - Reddit IXL lacks depth and students eventually just gamed the system I haven’t gone too much in depth with them other than skills ALEKS seems to be a good choice (have not implemented yet) as it will take a step back if it sees the student not understanding
