Honeycombing - Pulmonary fibrosis - Inspire Honeycombing is a pattern of fibrosis seen on a CT scan associated with Usual Interstitial Pneumonia It doesn't always occur only with IPF but can occur with other types of PF as well I have a UIP pattern of ILD with honeycombing but am diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis due to Systemic Scleroderma and not IPF

Is there a difference between IPF and NSIP? - Pulmonary fibrosis - Inspire The two most commonly seen are the UIP (Usual Interstitial Pneumonia) pattern and NSIP (Non Specific Interstitial Pneumonia) pattern The UIP pattern of disease with honeycombing is more often seen in cases of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis whereas the NSIP pattern is more often seen in cases where the cause is known, such as in autoimmune diseases
