Artemis by Andy Weir is painful (and maybe sexist?) - Reddit Andy Weir can't write human beings that are anything other than "Marvel-quirky" at best, and he really can't write women When it comes to women, he's like an alien that only knows about them secondhand from the astronaut's brain he ate With Weir, I now have a rule that I'll skip anything that isn't mostly limited to one human character
Artemis by Andy Weir. : r books - Reddit Weir improved significantly and parts of it do read much more like the SF classics, but with his typically irreverent narration With Artemis though there’s a contingent of people who think the book itself is creepy, man-writing-erotica trash, and they feel physical cringe reading it I think that’s an overreaction
[Megathread] Artemis by Andy Weir : r books - Reddit As many of you are aware on November 14 Artemis by Andy Weir will be released In order to prevent the sub from being flooded with posts about Artemis we have decided to put up a megathread
Are they still making an Artemis film question? - Reddit I think Artemis isn’t quite as good because Andy Weir has trouble writing a young woman, as opposed to Martian and PHM where, I’m guessing, he was basically writing himself? I thought the premise and world-building for Artemis was cool though and I think I read it was being adapted for Netflix
Artemis (Andy Weir) is a good example of bad witty character . . . - Reddit I did not like the main character of Andy Weir’s second book, Artemis On a surface level, the main character of Jazz Bashara seemed to possess some of the same likeable traits as Mark and I do admit I was certainly intrigued in the first few chapters But digging into the book, I realized the character of Jazz had about as much depth as there is gravity on the moon - a little bit to draw
Review: Artemis by Andy Weir : r Fantasy - Reddit Spoilers ahead Artemis is about a city on the moon Which is appropriate People have always joked about the moon being made of Swiss cheese This one must be, because it’s full of holes Bit of a stretch? Maybe, but so is the plot of Artemis This was my first Andy Weir book (dubious decision when The Martian is right there, I know), and if I didn’t know better, it probably would have
“artemis” by andy weir is terrible : r books - Reddit “artemis” by andy weir is terrible Never thought I’d say this but I hated this book The biggest plot twist was when Jazz revealed she was 28 because honestly she portrayed a teenage edgelord a lot better than some YA characters
Is Artemis (by Andy Weir) overly sexual? : r books - Reddit I think Weir was just trying some different things that just didn’t work which happens I feel like he took the lessons from The Martian and Artemis into Project Hail Mary which probably helped shape it
Just finished Artemis by Andy Weir : r books - Reddit Just finished Artemis by Andy Weir Absolutely loved this book Science fiction meets heist planning and execution It was technical in some aspects, without getting boringly in depth Amazing character development and multiple plot twists that keep it interesting right up to the end Would definitely recommend this book!
