My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 11 pc and community member like you Let us work together to sort this out Here's the steps you can try -Go to Device Manager -Expand the Universal Serial Host Controller -Look for USB 3 0 Root Hub and USB 3 0 Extensible Serial Host Controller -Right click and Uninstall
- Windows 11 doesnt recognize usb devices on startup.
Open Device Manager: Right-click on the Start menu and select Device Manager Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers section Update Drivers: Right-click each USB controller and select Update driver > Search automatically for drivers Windows will search for and install any available updates Rollback Drivers:

After performing the restart, the Windows will recognize USB Root Hubs as new device and will install its drivers automatically Method 4 - Update Drivers 1 Right-click on the Start menu button and select Device Manager 2 Expand Universal Bus Controllers Here, right-click on the USB Root Hub select Update driver 3

It is like the device is not recognized at the hardware level It still works on the other PC (Win7) and laptop (Win10) So the device is working fine It is recognized on the other machines without problem I can't update the drivers as I don't see the device anywhere Not even as an unknown device My tries so far:

I have MS Surface Book 2 and Surface Studio 2 under Windows 11 All USB 2 flash drives are not recognized BUT USB 3 are recognized without a problem Just an FYI I spoke with an MS rep at Best Buy He was aware of the problem He told me that you have to enter a code to get the USB 2 to be recognized My simpler solution:
