There are more than a few complaints here about the Early Bird Check In The general advice that is given here is correct All that is done is that you are automatically checked in, not guaranteed a better boarding position Personally, I have never used EBCI since I put a reminder on my phone 2

Changes were recently made that allow lap children to be added to the reservation and obtain boarding passes via the kiosk and it no longer appears Southwest is age verifying EVERY child under age 2 Proof of age should still be carried, but if the child is obviously under 2 based on looks, it does

Is there a standard hard fast rule about who when a bag can be gate checked? I have a tracheostomy and usually pre-board; and also chronic back issues and wear a brace to help me with the weight of my carryons I have a backpack filled with my medical supplies, which sits atop my carry-on suitcase

I agree to a certain degree but for other reasons I realize that seats 1-15 are always available for upgrades I choose to use Early Bird because I do not always have the opportunity to "check in" 24 hours prior to a flight But yes, Early Bird is no longer an effective means of guaranteeing a prop

I had always understood that to be a benefit of EBCI will try to confirm There are some misconceptions about EBCI out there but “check in” is in the name of it so I would expect to be checked in (But not be assured of an A position, etc ) When did you add EBCI and what was your position that
