In Older Polish (and still in some areas, or so I've heard), ł was a "dark" L, basically like the one in English "milk", or the L sound used in Russian or Portuguese for instance In modern standard Polish however, it became a w sound

Yea I know plenty of people who write ł and t almost exactly the same just making ł line slanted instead of straight It's a question of style, sometimes region or even a teacher in how you learn cursive I still remember writing Ż as Ƶ for example

In ł the dash is slightly tilted and in t is straight So yeah, if you fix bottom part in 1st version you get regular adult ł that most people write edit: I just noticed a great reply from u hyvyys here, 2nd to last ł is what I mean and I believe it answers your question all around best

One thing I have noticed is that, the way I wrote them, ł looks a lot like t (i e when I write lower case T and L in English, the only difference is in the presence absence of a stroke, so when we add in an L that has a stroke, things get a bit confusing)

So my Ł has diagonal line (and all capital letters look simillar to straight printed versions) and not like this Usually my ł's looks like in the first picture (sticks with the upper line), the same with my t's (stick crossed with short horizontal line at the height of the "lower line" in the e letter, e g in piątek, wtorek)

Ł also has a different cursive design in North American orthographies (e g Navajo) than it does in Polish It’s either a regular l with a steep crossbar, a belted ɬ , a looped l (i e ℓ ) with a crossbar, or in older forms a looped l with a stroke through the right hook at the base (kind of like ȴ )
