Tennessee allows you to apply for reciprocity for your fire certs They just have to have an IFSAC seal If you received your certs prior to 2001, and they are not IFSAC, go to The Ohio Fire Academy web page and print off the IFSAC grandfather application Send that in with a copy of your certs and you will get a new certification w an IFSAC seal

Chief--California doesn't reciprocate any certs State, Federal, or otherwise If the OP wants a California State Fire Marshal FF1, FF2, or even VFF certificate, he'll have to complete the corresponding CSFM training record, which can be handled within the department (for VFF and FF1 certs anyways--it'll take forever, but it can be done) however the "preferred" way to obtain the FF1 cert is

In VA if the certs are NFPA standard and are current the State of VA will accept them, but most cities and counties won't and you will have to compete the recruit program and test just as members do who don't know why fire trucks are parked in the house facing outward to the street!

I have National Pro Board and Maryland Certs that are good until after my Funeral Second, and most important, All Fire Training here is FREE Free meaning that the money to operate the State's Fire Training operations is Tax Money thru the State Budget Process, No Individual person or Fire Department puts out a Dime
