Thats not how it works in vanilla However, there is a mod for that It essentially turns the flask into a proper masterball that you can use to store and conjure any NPC creature in the game

So im doing my honor run and just finished act 2 Myrkul boss I figured i make my life easyer and throw the iron flask behind the Myrkul and have someone else attack it Huge mistake it only most of the time targeted my party members and not even once attacked Myrkul I was about to give up my run, but by a miracle i got a second wind and killed Myrkul I got the cutscenes and i spammed skip
