No, if you bought a Railcard on the Trainline app, then you will need to display it in the app on your phone, and a printout or screenshot will not pass muster For future years you can order plastic railcards from the official Railcards website, or buy a paper card railcard from any railway station ticket office

The Trainline have done nothing wrong, and didn't impose the rules; so they're entitled to be paid for the work they did and admin in refunding the ticket etc It's likely the train operator will also charge them for the refund itself, so not fair they're out of pocket
