Thanks for the answer I considered that, but assumed also that, separate to the your dropbox files folder, Dropbox itself keeps a record of what was synced and when So my assumption was that this trick would cause havoc as suddenly a load of unsynced files appeared and everything would stop work

It seems that in the interim, Dropbox replaced my local disk desktop with a desktop with 'dropbox' in the path, and created a huge file on my computer to store all its contents This played havoc with Blender and other file search system When I finally tracked it down and eliminated it, I have been unable to get a regular desktop back

A friend bought a new HP TP01-1050, i5, Windows 10 Home PC from amazon and I'm setting it up for him While using the PC, a Dropbox promotion popped up and the popup did not have any way to close it except to click the "OK" button which I guess is "OK to install Dropbox"
