The original Oakland temple building had the Buddhist swastika design incorporated on its roof end tiles and entryway However with ever-rising tensions, some of the young members of the temple felt these Buddhist “manji” symbols, even though they were the reverse of Hiltler’s swastika design were inappropriate for the temple
