Olympic - Hurricane Ridge is going to be mostly snow The Hurricane Ridge visitor center will likely be staffed and open for warming, but probably won't have concessions The view is great and you can definitely climb up the snowy hills for fun but there isn't much hiking at that time of year

I'm planning a backpacking trip in Olympic National Park with a friend in early to mid June We're pretty flexible in terms of the number of days (5-10) We'd love to see as much as possible (beaches rainforest alpine), but we're aware early-mid June still has a lot of rain especially on the West side of the park, so we're leaning towards exploring mainly the valleys alpine landscapes

Tip: If it's a good day, once in the park use the pull out just before the tunnels, you will get a great view of Port Angeles, the ocean, and Mt Baker Also the visitor center burned down last year, and they have minimum facilities, the road to where it was has been blocked and it's about a 1 mile walk to that area, you can still access trails from parking of course, just be aware

Olympic has a few lodge type places and national park campgrounds within the park plus vacation rentals outside the park, and some hotels in Port Angeles, which is close to parts of the park and far from other parts Acadia has lots of hotels in Bar Harbor, some camping in and outside the park and some vacation rentals elsewhere on the island
