- TOUR OF THE UNKNOWN COAST – A CYCLING EVENT IN HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
This is a new event as of 2024 and due to the cancelling of the TUC this year, the ride organizers are going to include a century route using the TUC course There will also be shorter course options available including riding the Avenue of the Giants and exploring gravel roads

Yep, I did it last year on an XR600r with a stock tank (about 80 miles to reserve on pavement, less on dirt) I carried 3 quarts of fuel in my pack, and I got a bit more from a friend at one point (due to my own bad planning, missing a fuel stop) It's a great ride, much more scenic than the sheetiron

I rode the Tour of the Unknown Coast about ten times in my life, in the 1970’s and 1980’s and later, the TUC Metric Century in the 1990’s Each ride was memorable for one reason or another, for better or for worse
