The Etrac is a great detector, but given the choice I’d definitely pick the CTX The additional features make it worth the extra $$$ to me I find Target Trace extremely useful for hunting in iron and trash

Notice Etrac and CTX have no what we likely deem fast recovery settings like 7 and 8 on Nox 800 Now some targets can be found with a faster sweep using say speed 6 or speed 7 Some even challenged terribly to a lot of other detectors can be located too

Bought a used Etrac in late fall, took it out a few times to break the ice, moved up from ATPro (still have it) Used stock programs the few times I had it out Have now spent all winter reading this forum, watching you tube videos on etrac use etc etc

The Etrac lets you fine tune that sensitivity in 30 steps the Safari 20 in manual Etrac lets you boost the Auto mode +3 the Safari does not But when it comes to finding targets with setting matched I believe the Safari wold match the etrac I have air tested my Safari to 12 inches repeatable for coins

Etrac,I've broken a few arm cups,,they're cheap flimsy plastic Other than that ,the etrac is a tank built to last The nox don't feel cheap to me either Sure it's light,but so is the Deus and it's built well Ive abused one Deus,threw it around for a good 4 months ,in and outta the truck,garage,out hunting,and it held up i think build quality of

In TBGO etrac downloads section for the emulator there are several zip files I cannot get to syc load to the downloaded emulator from the Minelab website I was hoping for a walk through as I have tried to get it to work to no avail

Since ML's rechargeable pack is essentially 8 NiMH cells, which (when new) gives 9 6V more or less steady until needing recharge, the Etrac must be fine with that lower voltage Probably good down to 8-9V or so to allow for aging, and use up alkalines as much as possible
