I have the a similar issue that I have just isolated to this kernal update For my system (macbook air running xfce mint 21 2) screen is blank before login was even blank before grub menu however pluged in monitor runs normally and extended displays mode has the macbook air screen blank and the monitor working ened up duplicating the macbook air display onto the monitor
