one thing to consider also is that over time the style of shooting and therefore the accuracy demands have changed I really like and enjoy using vintage stuff however back in the era from say 1960’s back, almost all rifle match competition was positional shooting ( off hand kneeling prone sitting) where today most people focused on rimfire

A Savage 93G, I use to remember it being a 92G but looking at the current lineup I think that was wrong It was 22WMR and I was averaging 3 4" five shot groups at 100 yards with Winchester Super X I would shoot it while waiting for my centerfire rifle to cool down Didn't realize how unusually accurate that was at the time for a 22WMR
