One Clark's sells a seal spacer for the crank seal that installs before the seal and spaces the sealing lips back a little bit to a fresh area of the crank I have had very good luck with these another options is a speedy sleeve that taps down over the crank seal surface providing a fresh and slightly tighter sealing area Good luck

Look at your first photo on the standard shift bellhousing and notice the round spot below the crank seal in the surface of the inside This is a relief for late camshaft clearance A Late Model PG b bellhousing will have the same recess in this location

I'm told the early model bellhousing "belly button" is not compatible with this motor My thinking is, if the motor I currently have in the van is the correct block for my spare EM bellhousing I can just use that motor instead of finding a LM bellhousing

Replace gear or use our spacer (C5311, page 7A) which will place the seal in a slightly different area Carefully and evenly tap new seal in (must be installed from engine side!)
