I'm pretty sure beta alanine is the ingredient that provides that "itchy" (see also: this) feeling, which many people associate with the preworkout working this is called paresthesia creatine isn't going to have a stimulative effect and there are no real detrimental effects of mixing it with your coffee, AFAIK
