Amsoil IS worth the money for protection and longer intervals b t oil changes The one thing that you may not have thought about though is that the 6 0 PSD shears oil more than any other Diesel Engine Due to this, you need to change the oil in your truck more than the others

Amsoil OE is a GrpIII base stock oil while Mobil 1 0w40 is a GrpIV I believe Both oils should get the Job done for your application That’s the thing, Mobil 1 seems to change their formulas around quite a bit with this particular oil…last time I checked it was around 40% PAO, which is pretty impressive to me

If I owned that truck, with the 3 0 Duramax, I would run a 5w40 such as VPBE, Delvac ESP, Delo 400 XSP, HPL CC CK-4, or AMSOIL Diesel oil Diesel oil is made to handle higher soot levels and contains the dispersants to do so This is the point I’m trying to drive home, and it is especially relevant to emissions-intact diesel pickups
