It is my understanding that as long as the antler has the pedicle on it (showing it is a true shed), there is nothing wrong with having it However, if you have antlers without pedicles or skulls with antlers, I believe you technically are supposed to have it tagged Not sure on the laws about state parkes, etc

Are anybody elses antlers holding longer than usual? I feel like the mild winter up to this point has kept my main hitlisters holding bone longer than normal I know for a fact that my #1 shed before Jan 1st last year, and this year hes still holding as of Feb 5th

I had an interesting conversation recently with a couple avid shed hunters and one of them pointed out that dead heads or antlers attached to dead deer can sometimes lay out in the field for months or even years untouched by squirrels and rodents while shed antlers seem to get chewed up

Deer usually have dropped their antlers by the end of March I'd say I've had luck finding sheds on trails between bedding and feeding areas Thats been my personal luck Along fence rows and anywhere a deer must jump are said to be good places Shane
