- AppleCare or no AppleCare: that is the question
Bought AppleCare for my iMac, of all things, and used it twice in the first three years: Liquid damage: Replaced my Magic Keyboard which had Touch ID and Numeric keypad; Faulty display: Two days after AppleCare had expired, I got the hotizontal lines: Apple graciously replaced it Replacing the keyboard alone covered the cost of AC
- Costco 2-year warranty vs. AppleCare+. . . any good bad stories?
I came looking for guidance on this also as I plan to purchase a new 27” iMac to replace my mid-2011 model If I get 4 years of coverage automatically (1 yr Apple, 1 year Costco, 2 years Costco VISA), why buy AppleCar
- Use Case with AppleCare+? | MacRumors Forums
I always get AppleCare plus monthly with theft loss until I get rid of the phone then I can cancel The coverage is the same However, if you drop your phone you’ll just have to deal with not having one for quite a while unless you live close to an Apple Store to exchange it But I would always use a case
- AppleCare - Is it worth it? - MacRumors Forums
AppleCare has saved me countless times with Mac repairs, iPhone screen replacements, and even an Apple Pencil replacement My philosophy is I may not NEED it But the minute I don’t have something covered is when I’ll need it

If you upgrade every year, monthly AppleCare is cheaper*, and if you keep your phone longer than two years, paying monthly is the only way to extend your coverage AFAIK *This doesn’t account for increased resale value if your device has AppleCare, but in my experience having active AppleCare+ doesn’t impact device resale value much if at all!
- Do you guys recommend AppleCare? - MacRumors Forums
Edit: to reply on the post above I never looked at AppleCare My phone has a screen protector and my watch I use without a case, only a film protector Only the Macbook feels like a suited candidate for me to take AppleCare so I totally understand and agree with a rainy day fund But as I need my MacBook for the coming 3 years on a daily basis
- Best Buy warranty vs AppleCare? - MacRumors Forums
My Thoughts on AppleCare vs Geek Squad I am also planning to purchase an insurance plan for my new iPhone5s and came here looking for information that compares AppleCare and GeekSquad The one thing to consider which no one has discussed is that AppleCare is a one-time upfront charge of $99 that covers 2 incidents with a deductible of $79 00
- The band isnt covered under AC+? (Yes, its covered)
I guess we will find out either through official confirmation or someone actually trying to get the strap replaced through AppleCare Plus At the end of the day my main concern is with the watch and not the strap especially as the strap I'm getting with the watch is the black sport band which is relatively cheap anyway
