- Garmin Zumo Basecamp - What maps do you use? - Adventure Rider
I've downloaded gpx files for the IDBDR and can see them in Basecamp, but can't upload to my XT Am thinking I have to buy maps from Garmin for Basecamp to then be able to do that? Am wading through the big XT thread on here but its 200+ pages, so slow going I'd like to just use Basecamp and the XT for all route planning and capture if possible
- garmin jargon, tracks vs route vs map, etc. (basecamp?) - Adventure Rider
Basecamp can somewhat blur the distinction because you can arbitrarily insert track points and convert between the two However a route will have turn by turn directions, and points are represented differently You can convert a track to a route, and select the number of shaping points
- Google Maps to Basecamp Tracks Routes for Dummies
Launch Basecamp Under File, Import the gpx file you've created This will create a track in Basecamp Select the track in the list and right click and rename since it will have added some extra stuff to the name With your renamed track highlighted in the list, under Basecamp's EDIT menu, use the "Create Route From Track" command
- Garmin zumo xt isnt recognized on basecamp | Adventure Rider
My other Garmin GPS works fine and is "seen" by my Mac in Finder, connects on Garmin Express, and is seen on Basecamp I use the Garmin provided USB and an Apple USB to my MacBook Air My new Zumo XT is connected to Garmin Express and must be connected in some way to Basecamp because Basecamp downloaded the maps from the XT
- How to create route in basecamp?????? - Adventure Rider
BaseCamp isn't the same between platforms and works very differently For one, there is no insert tool ;-) To create a circular route, use the route tool to define it with 3 or 4 points ending a few meters short of your start
- BaseCamp tip (for those using multiple computers)
The BaseCamp default location is: C:\Users\<computer name>\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\BaseCamp\Database, the files are AllData gbd FolderData gfi Once the files are copied to DropBox, the go into Basecamp on the Desktop and change the file location to your DropBox Folder
- Track vs Route in Basecamp - Adventure Rider
So say you plan a route in basecamp from A to B Then you go out on your bike, and make a detour to check something out while enroute from A to B When you get home, and look at the path you took, you now have a track with a path from A to B, but also showing the path to C as well
- Basecamp not finding gps device - Adventure Rider
Never mind, Basecamp, how about your computer? Is the InReach showing up in the list of connected drives? Lots of times I used to plug in my Montana to my Mac and it would take "forever" for the Mac to add the Montana to the list of connected devices Sometimes never at all and I'd have to unplug and replug until eventually it would connect
