I want to calibrate my barometer but am not sure if I am doing this right… I have a known good barometric number from a nearby airport that is updated constantly… the airport lies at an elevation of 1513’ My station is at an elevation of 2050’… I thought I had read that pressure drops about 1% per 250’ of elevation gained… if that was the case I’d need to lower my barometer

I was checking my wmr100 portable station and noticed a problem with calibration I bought an external temp hydro sensor because the built in was not correct and inaccurate in the sun I tried to calibrate the temp and it will not show the correction nor the humitity The barometer calibrates ok It looks like wd calibration is working on the primary outdoor reading and not the added sensor

The interesting thing is that once I got this all running, I was able to back out almost all the calibration change I had been forced to do to try to fix my barometer readings for APRS

Stations I emailed include: AS856-D2319-C1397-AT999-C5488-AR335-C0713 I heard back from C1397, AR335, C5488, and C1789 (my old station) and all report to be sending altimeter data except C5488 Philip Gladstone seems to think KAUN is suspect and needing calibration Go figure… Yea, NIST probably isn’t worth what ever Davis is charging

I saw a few problems in 1 6 5 but now 1 6 6 has been released and it seems fine There were some anomalous readings on indoor humidity before I also note that it fails to remember put into effect barometer adjustments on the calibration page on new firmware There may be other calibrations it fails to remember, but i only use the relative barometer correction
