- Hampton Court Palace vs Blenheim Palace - Rick Steves
1 - Windsor Castle 2 - Hampton Court Palace 3 - Blenheim Palace Nigel is spot-on in his description of Windsor Castle fulfilling your desire to see a palace, and the town of Windsor is very pleasant to wander in But if date restrictions won’t allow a visit there, Hampton Court Palace and it’s gardens are fantastic

What is the best way to get to Blenheim Palace from Oxford if you do NOT have a car? We would like to visit there at night for the light show It looks like the bus takes 2 hours or more Is that correct? Can you take an uber or lyft from Oxford to Blenheim?
- Blenheim palace from London - Rick Steves Travel Forum
Not walkable (9 miles) - take Bus S3 from Oxford Station to the Palace Gates (Woodstock)- 1 hour train journey then 40 minute bus ride Normally you would get a 20% discount for travelling green but not at Christmas as there are special ticketing arrangements in force via Raymond Gubbay (an Agency)
- Windsor Castle, Hampton Court Palace, or Blenheim Palace
Blenheim is the hardest to get to and since it is someone's home you're limited to the rooms you can visit It is lovely and if it bores you, Oxford is near Love Windsor Castle but when you're done seeing the bits tourists are allowed in you're left with the town and the long walk Mind you its a really cute town Hampton Court Palace my choice
