Hi K4EET, It's a UV-5R, but is that really relevant to mapping motorola software data fields to the "CHIRP" software As for FCC, you may be right, but this is a very small all-volunteer department with tiny budget, and this is just a proof-of-concept exercise at this time

Chirp can be used with IJV mod, but you have to load a specific module for IJV The module is included in the zip file which contains the firmware With IJV 2 9R5 use uvk5_IJV_v2 9R5_jh11i1 py and with IJV 3 21 use uvk5_IJV_v3_48 py And use a recent version of Chirp-next This is explained in the IJV manuals

The developers for CHIRP aren't here You're more likely to find them on the CHIRP email reflector, the URL for which you will find in message 10 of this thread RT systems supports a number of Baofeng radios - and may be a better bet since they have a dedicated customer service line, their own knowledge base from which to look up issues
