What's the first place to look for problems with a diesel hot air heater, it clicks ticks and draws a lot of current but fails to fire up I don't want to take it all apart so where should I start or what is a common problem for not starting Thanks

As an example, my small VW camper has a 2kw heater that comes on once a day for one hour to pre-heat van during cooler months The van has a 200w panel on roof connected to a 50ah lithium house battery and that setup won’t keep up with the heaters demand Once a month or so I charge lithium battery from the alternator to get it full again

It sounds like you have a defective unit Have you contacted the vendor about a warranty replacement? We got our Vevor heater replaced for free when it failed after a year (something about the fan sensors) The new unit arrived in just a few days, and was a 20min job to swap
