This started happening a few days ago but I have been unable to adjust the volume with car play either through my steering wheel controls or the volume dial on my stereo This only happens when connected to CarPlay, Bluetooth audio is not affected I’m using an iPhone 13 Pro Max with the latest iOS and I’m driving a 2022 Toyota RAV4

On the car when i connect phone, carplay starts up but continues to listen to the radio which is great Also while using maps the radio still plays However, in the van , carplay takes over the audio and plays whatever was last played on phone I cant get radio to play without switching off carplay I cant also listen to radio while maps is on

I have a wireless CarPlay unit and wireless CarPlay uses WiFi for the data screen connectivity to the CarPlay unit from the phone It’s a point to point connection So with wireless CarPlay you need to have the WiFi on Of course if you are using a wired CarPlay connection you don’t need the WiFi

When playing a song in the Boom app while connected via CarPlay, use the phone instead of the car screen and then tap the Boom icon to the far right of the currently playing song title, down at the bottom of the app On that screen, scroll down to "Equalizer", and choose a preset or tap "Create"

Apple CarPlay works great as you would expect… both wired and wireless There is zero latency and it works as good or better than I've seen in OEM CarPlay examples from Volkswagen, Mazda, etc I’ve always preferred wired though and I’ll keep trying both to find the best option for me I like wired as it charges my phone and is 100% reliable
