Re: Adjusting idle mixture on 115 Merc Ok, I read the post that clams put up about how to time and sync a motor and i did all of that including trying to warm the engine up and my motor still takes off rough at the begining I did though learn something that I didn't know from clams post that may shed a little more light on my situation

Re: Tower of Power with stalling when put into gear Thanks for the tip on the filter That seemed to be the issue, I think After some tuning on the water I got her running decent when another issue seemed to come out It starts good but the idle is a bit rough and high, when you give it full thottle it seems to come out of the hole really strong but I can only get the rpm up to 5200 while at

I have a 1969 merc 800 Ser#2669700 and I have been trying set the spark advance for a year I have a service manual for it and I have read Clams Casino's description of the sync and timing procedure but I can't get a grip on it The service manual has some special rules for this model I am one

Thanks for the update I didn't know that there was a grease that didn't disolve in gasoline Hey Clams, do you want to weigh in on the original question about water working it's way into the crankcase from the exhaust cover of baffle? Ever see this in your travels?
