Does anyone here subscribe to Angie's List? I signed up for Angie's List about 6 months after I bought my first house I got a discounted subscription for the first year but after that it went up to the normal price of about 50 bucks for the year I can say that I have yet to be disappointed with the contractors and tradesmen I have used through Angie's List

The problem with Angies list has nothing to do with "profit motive " It is a scam, like a pyramid scheme or a con If Angies was honest and well directed with a view towards long term profits they would make a good service that people could depend upon, not a fly by night scam hyped to get people to pay $20 and then be set adrift

I did manage to log back into the Angies list and get to the reviews and lists When you first open it up the search box gives you the job description that puts your info out for grabs If you go to the alphabetic list of names you get to a different spot

With Angie's List it really depends where you are located Around here, it's not so great and not so established, as I found out by joining the site On LI, you are better off by word of mouth and doing your due diligence and double checking qualifications, licensing, insurance, etc Where my sister lives (FL) is a very transient state, full of dirtbags and ripoff artists looking to prey on

I can't vouch for how active it is in Phoenix of course, but it might be worth checking out I have used Angie's List and frankly, I find it useless Most places barely have any reviews except the one's that pay for promotions through Angie's List I cancelled it after two months and won't go back
