having said that I don't think you have enough exit area The so called rule is 3:1- that's what is talked about on the DA video But I have or have had DLE 120s and DA 120s and have never baffled a cowl, or use tri stock, and have never had a problem I just make sure there's lot of airspace down below at minimum I would open up the cowl

The reed cage on the DLE 55 wasn't that bad, it was the plastic blocks that seal the reeds to the engine carb that were very un even Even with a gasket, if it is uneven it will suck air Period

Hi Kalin I just installed the rear conversion kit in my DLE 30 and I reinstalled it in the Yak again looking to fly it sunday ,will see The mod in the firewall is not that big of deal ,very simple 2 1 2 round role and just trimm for the throtlle arm to go true only one screws is close to the standoff but I put a bigger wash inside the of the firewall and that set good to go!

I have a dle 30 with about 2 gals of fuel ran in it Started to have problems with the idle hanging and rough mid-range I did the mods seen here on the reed block and it helped a lot I still need to fine tune it Thanks for showing this fix Waynem

When I had a DLE 35 in it I had to add 1# up front to get the balance correct, dry weight is 15# Going to a larger engine to get the balance correct is a no brainer to me I have a DLE 55RA in a Seagul Cessna 188, vibration doesn't seem any more than any other engine in the 35-55 class have a VVRC 60RA in a Stuka that shakes a lot

Do the reed valve no change Anyway eventualy it came around Ive had a 20, 30, 35, DL50, 55 and a 111 so not unfamiliar with DLE and gas engines in general as thats all Ive flown since around the early 90s and this 35 was the toughest DLE to hand start Ive ever had
