Before that there were a handful of servers utilizing a script to manipulate the player count on their servers I'm guessing that script was reverse engineered or made open source because it seems like it's widely popular, and has been improved to manipulate the server browser in new ways

DayZ also was in the top 5 of best selling products on steam for the last week I'm sure the Frostline DLC made that happen (I think the game was also on sale) Streamers and etc Many players wanting to experience something new (new map etc) so it doesn't surprise me if the numbers went up a bit And I bet the player count has gone down by now

my guess goes a little something like this on a 60 server low = 1-20 medium 21-40 high 41-60 or higher if you get the next up box with the what number you are in the cue you know the score from their I hope, its basic math really

Spoofed player counts don't influence the player numbers on steam though, the concurrents would be magnitudes higher if that were the case, steam pulls that data from steam api, which can't be spoofed where as the server browser uses an A2S query which can be spoofed as they are reported from the servers themselves

From your example, the loot economy will try to spawn 40 BarbedWire in the world, if they aren't interacted with in 2 hours (7200 second lifetime value), they will despawn, if the number of BarbedWire in the world gets down to 20 (minimum value), they will start to respawn, in this case the CLE will try to spawn them all at once as the restock timer is set to 0

Righ tnow you hit RightShift+P to get to the ingame list All you will see is a grey page But if you hit up and down arrows you can go through the player list and get an idea of how many are on the server You just won't be able to see their names
