- EGW vs Extreme Engineering Ignition kit - Brian Enoss Forums
Been doing some research and it seems like both EGW and Extreme Engineering make good ignition kits for the 2011 platform Which would you guys prefer? Looking to get about a 2-2 5# crisp trigger pull Maybe adjust the sear spring to sub 2# after a bit of seat time
- EGW U die vs Lee U die - 10mm 40 Caliber - Brian Enoss Forums
Is there any difference when looking at the EGW and the Lee U-die? Are they marked differently? My 40 procedure is as follows 1) Quick clean thru the tumbler, usually a couple of hours 2) lube the cases and run them thru the GR=X die 3) Tumble for a final polish and to clean off the lube 4) Load on my 550 with the Lee EGW U-die as the
- Prodigy 4. 25 recoil spring with EGW guide rod kit
The 'stock' 12lb EGW spring has likely taken a 'set' already as it probably has 400-500rnds through it by this point Cutting springs is fine, but one should invest in a method to measure the spring rate to make sure you aren't getting some wild number - cutting a spring makes it heavier - not lighter
- Took the Plunge-bought a Prodigy - Brian Enoss Forums
The EGW magazine well also slides right on The Dawson extended magazine release will come loose and jam up the gun The EGW beavertail drops right in and deactivates more reliably for me It also distributes pressure over a wider area of the web of your and, and I find it more comfortable on longer training sessions
- EGW Hammer Sear necessary? - Brian Enoss Forums
stock sear, EGW hammer, 14lb hammer spring, Henning firing pin - this has a very smooth and consistent 3 5lb pull The break on the sear could be a little crisper though This sear has ~10,000 rounds on it I started fitting an EGW sear, but I got tired of messing with it and will finish it this winter 10mm Match-----
- New EGW Power Extractor Replacement - Brian Enoss Forums
EGW is now making a direct replacement extractor for the Power Extractor No sleeving required It is only available though the Para Pro Shop and is apparently going into new production guns also I paid $60 for one which is about the same as a sleeve and a quality extractor Hope this helps anyone else whos having extractor problems
- Lee vs. EGW? - General Reloading - Brian Enoss Forums
Anyone have experience with both the Lee and EGW U dies and can recommend one over the other? Lee apparently makes the U die for EGW to EGW's specifications so there's probably not much of a difference between the two EGW says their die is undersized by 001" while the Lee U die is undersized by 002- 003" The Lee is also $10 cheaper
- Prodigy with EGW internals having light strikes
I installed the egw lightened hammer kit for the prodigy last year and starting to experience some light strikes that fail to fire I'm assuming I went with the 17 lb main spring but my order history from shooters doesn't specify which spring it came with The mainspring is definitely lighter than the factory
