The first Emmons to leave the Factory has the original serial number style It is ES 130 002 from January 1964 and is pictured in the 1964 brochure -- the picture with Buddie Emmons (not Buddy) playing the guitar

I have a Emmons, Legrand number 703L Jack Strayhorn built it for Bruce BOUTON I don't know the year It was built, I traded with Bruce, I'm thinking it was 1990 OR 1992 It has a square steel bar IN the center The length of the guitar, I have never seen another Emmons, double 10 with this particular bar I would think it is a BRACE for the C6

The Emmons wraparound model was the guitar originally designed by Buddy Emmons They were produced from '64 thru '65 The wraparound refers to the neck wrapping totally around the changer while not contacting it at any point This guitar originally featured the changer fingers on 3 8" axles which was then changed to 1 2" and then to 9 16" in late '64-early '65 Additionally, the early guitars

The Emmons guitar originated from two changes I wanted on the Sho~Bud pedal steel we were manufacturing: a smaller cabinet and aluminum necks I had designed the original Sho~Bud cabinet, but the more I became accustomed to the mechanics of pedal mechanisms, the more I saw in the way of overkill in cabinet size
