- Dev Diary #24 - Fervor, Religious Hostility, and Doctrine Showcase
Fervor Every Faith has a Fervor score, which is a representation of how strongly adherents of that Faith believe in the righteousness of their religious and secular leaders While Fervor has a slow ticking increase over time, it is primarily influenced by the virtuousness or sinfulness of that Faith’s leaders
- How to increase FERVOR? - Paradox Interactive Forums
Fervor is religion wide, not realm specific If you're part of a very large religion, like Catholicism in 1066, fervor will be low Smaller religions and new heresies have higher fervor It's something that transcends the realm, and I think that's why it's difficult to influence in most cases
- Fervor System - Paradox Interactive Forums
Fervor for Catholics is completely broken right now because the devs thought it was a good idea to make the sinful bishop event that decreases fervor by 10, and it can fire on any bishop in the game Oh a bishop on the other-side Christendom is an adulter? -10 fervor
- Do we really need a fervor mechanic? - Paradox Interactive Forums
The fervor mechanic in CK3 is the source of much frustration, due to how it seemingly punishes religions for their success: being large, winning holy wars If we look at history, the only religions that collapsed are the ones that are already marked as "unreformed faiths" by the game and have a bunch of debuffs
- Fervor Still Blows - Paradox Interactive Forums
Point is: Fervor only serves to kneecap Catholicism real bad, I'm not entirely sure about Ash'arism, but I've noted that their fervor leans towards very low fervor as well The big religion fervor penalty is just too harsh, and winning holy wars for your faith "exhausting your believers' devotion" makes it real hard to want to stay as a big
- Crusade and Fervor Question | Paradox Interactive Forums
Building temples increases fervor a tiny bit, more if your culture has a tradition that encourages temple building Holy orders increase fervor when founded Other than that, you are at the mercy of rng for the heresy outbreak caused by sinful priests decreasing fervor Great holy Wars have a 30 year cooldown
- [MOD] Fervour Inversion - Winning Holy Wars Increases Fervor
The fervor_modifiers folder is otherwise empty, and another trigger in the vanilla file was hashed out by Paradox, so there's potential to do a lot more there I don't think it's a bad thing in gameplay if faiths do shatter but for the right reasons, that they were defeated in crusades and big wars
- Fervor - Unengaging and Non-Interactive - Paradox Interactive Forums
My personal opinion: I agree that the current fervor system could use some improvement, but I do think it should be hard to keep big faiths strong and unified long term For this reason, I like the CK3 fervor system more than the CK2 moral authority system The fervor system just needs to be more engaging and interactive
