With a dual-band adapter, if you don't disable the internal Pi wireless adapter you won't get any 5 GHz results (this is a known issue) What you'll need to do is disable the onboard wifi by editing boot config txt and adding the following line then reboot 'dtoverlay=pi3-disable-wifi' Now you'll be able to scan both bands from the Pi
