- Hornady GMX 55gr 224” | Snipers Hide Forum
The Hornady 55 grain GMX 224" projectile is a monolithic gilding-metal hollow point It does not have a polymer tip It's significantly longer than a typical lead-core jacketed FMJ bullet The bullet is a blind to barriers projectile, though accuracy precision is not on par with say, the Speer Gold Dot projectiles in this caliber The relief band also serves as a cannelure
- Hornady 5. 56mm 55 Grain GMX TAP Barrier - Snipers Hide
Hornady’s 5 56mm 55 grain GMX TAP Barrier ammunition (#81255) uses the same 55 grain GMX projectile that is available as a reloading component The 55 grain GMX bullet is a monolithic hollow-point, but unlike similar monolithic bullets such as the all-copper Barnes TSX, the Hornady GMX is made from gilding metal (95% copper and 5% zinc) Hence the “GM” portion of GMX
- Hunting Fishing - Barnes TSX vs. Hornady GMX - Snipers Hide
Re: Barnes TSX vs Hornady GMX I shoot all copper because that's what condors like The all copper bullets need to be driver faster to expand reliably at distance For that reason, I usually drop down a weight when running copper I prefer lead for accuracy, but occasionally get all copper to shoot well On the Barnes front, I get consistently better accuracy from the Tipped TSX over the TSX
- Range Report - 6. 5 Creedmoor 120 GR GMX | Snipers Hide Forum
The 120 GMX factory ammo was pretty hot, from the 22 5" barrel I shoot the bullets were passing the chrono avg 3075fps roughly, IMO that's pretty darn quick and I noted that the primers were somewhat flattened, definitely flatter than my known-to-be-warm 140Amax handload From the 20rds fired I didn't notice any undue fouling or negative behavior

- Hornady GMX 70gr. in . 223 and general monolithic reloading
I purchased three boxes of Hornady's 70gr monolithic bullets, the GMX series, only to discover that Hornady says they won't stabilize in a 1:8 twist barrel Unfortunately this is exactly what I have, 16" Wylde chamber, 1:8 twist in an auto-loader AR-15 I loaded five rounds, H335@23gr even
- 6. 5cm 120gr ttsx any 120gr solid load data | Snipers Hide Forum
Figured I wasn’t in danger territory since my 136gr load is at 43 5gr and I just ran the 120gr gmx at 44 0 with zero pressure signs Well with today’s conditions I chrono’ed the gmx with 44 0 gr at 2910 on average First 15 rounds of the 120gr ttsx gave me an average of 2959 High of 2967 and a low of 2945
