Anyway, I took the jack cover off and pulled the jack out of the guitar, and reality did not collapse onto itself The jack itself is a simple device, with two wires attached, and a prong which appears to hold the plug in place by the force tension of its "bend" toward the center of the jack hole, from its mount on the perimeter of that hole
