Synthetic grease is fine for your diff gears I wouldn't use any lithium based greases I bet that guy is going to recommend Lucas white lithium

While watching different videos on brake replacements, I saw some people suggested putting a lubricant on the brake pads' backing to prevent seizing Should I do this, and if so, can I use the Red 'N Tacky? Any other uses of Lucas Red 'N Tacky would be appreciated as well!

For gears, I recommend White Lithium Grease It works great and is inexpensive Make sure to not use this for plastic Only a small drop of it or differential fluid will work For filling gear diffs with grease, I have used Moly-Lithium grease with success If your diffs aren't sealed and can't accept oil, I would go with this
