Hetzner has had issues with this for quite a while now, and have gone from not requiring anything, to potential pre-payment, to all out ID verification over the years to combat things Unfortunately it does result in false positives, which is probably not what they want, but also seems to be one of those things that's inevitable

Hetzner apparently sees a demand for dedicated servers booked for less than a month and offers this now So someone who wants a dedicated server but only temporary can have this now Great for when you need beefy processing power but only sometimes
